Welcome And What We Teach
ClarityQuest Overview And Who It Helps
Step One Visionary Blue Sky Goals
FranExploit building. Hello and welcome to Melancholy Coaching Podcast, the show that highlights different business owners and ideas. I'm Fran, your NLP and business coach, and I've got Evan with me today. And together we share beginner-friendly content for business training and self-improvement designed to inspire newcomers, refresh knowledge, and keep you motivated to grow. Today we're sharing one of our favourite NLP planning tools. It's a little taster of the magic that we bring to client sessions. NLP is neurolinguistic programming. And just to clarify, I coach in kind of one-to-one sessions, and Evan provides tech support separately for anybody that needs it. And together we kind of run the whole YouTube channels and stuff like that. I say together, but it's Evan that does all the editing. Coach, so. And this planning technique, so who's it for? So apart from everybody, because this you know is designed for anyone to use, and it is based on a on an actual NLP technique, we've just got our own twist on it, and we've called it ClarityQuest. And so Clarity Quest, if you work with us, is designed to help you nail down your very next steps with absolute confidence. It's also perfect if you're looking to start or revive your YouTube channel or a podcast. So basically, it's a planning tool. And the first step is visionary. So this is about exploring the possibilities. And I'm going to aim this at Evan just so that you get a taster of this and get an idea of what it's about. So there's three stages, three steps to this basically. First one is visionary, it's about exploring the possibilities. This is exploring your dreams and aspirations without limits. So you're going to step into being visionary, going to look through the eyes of being a visionary, really embody it. This is about blue sky thinking, big thinking, expansion, limitless, and there's nothing holding you back. So, you know, see it, hear it, feel it, all the things. Yeah. Ask yourself if I waved a magic wand, what would my ideal creation look like?
EvanI would say a shop attached to my YouTube channel and a membership as well.
FranOkay. So then you anchor the feeling of that, how that's going to make you feel. So you see it, hear it, feel it, taste it, all the things. And you can spend as long as you want on each of these sections. Obviously, we're just going to kind of roll through it to give you an idea. So the next thing to ask yourself is if I could make one idea real this year, what would it be?
EvanDefinitely having merchandise on my shop, mugs, t-shirts, all ready, all designed and available for sale. That would be epic.
FranOkay, so what this is, this is a future pace. So this is about stepping forward and stepping into future pacing yourself and really embodying that vision of where you want to be and who you want to be. And again, this one's a future pace. So a year from now, what is the one thing I'll be proud of achieving? So ask yourself this.
EvanMore subscribers to my YouTube channel would be great. Who also love my products are obviously buying them.
Step Two Navigator Build The Roadmap
FranSo this is about focusing on what you do actually want, which is not always easy for us. Like we think we know what we want, it's not always very clear. And this is about digging down to if there was no limits, absolutely nothing holding you back, no limiting beliefs, anything, what would you create? So, and also it's about going as big as you like with this and remembering that somebody's big vision might seem small to other people, or it might seem big because this is for you. So if this is big for you, then then you know it's it's the one. So the second second steps, hopefully that makes sense. So the second step is the navigator. So now you're gonna build the roadmap. This is about taking your ideas from the visionary phase and evaluating their feasibility. So you're gonna leave the visionary there, you're gonna step into being a navigator, see through the eyes of the navigator, and you're building, you're turning the vision into a roadmap, and you're adding milestones and timelines. So looking at your vision, just thinking about it, as the navigator, ask yourself what are the three most important things that need to happen first.
EvanRight, I need to create the designs for the merchandise that I want. That would be like the first thing. Definitely decide on what shop to use because I've kind of brainstormed like the shops that I could attach, but I haven't decided on anything, and I just keep going over like the same info basically. And I also need to work out the details of my membership that I would have on there.
FranOkay, so like that. I've got a membership as well.
EvanYeah.
FranThis this is about chunking down. So you take the idea and you chunk down into you know, you kind of put it in the roadmap for it. So it's about being realistic and being balanced at this stage. So again, ask yourself what's the biggest thing that might slow me down and how can I plan for it now?
EvanIt's really finding the time, like when I'm not tired or fatigued, basically. So it would be that's the biggest thing, slowing me down, definitely.
FranOkay. And then if you just take this and work on this yourself, you can go more into that and about planning for it and stuff like that. So just for a little bit of clarity on on this part, which I'm sure we've we've alluded to it before, so Evan's not going to mind me mentioning it. Evan's got certain disabilities that lead to fatigue, and one of them is fibromyalgia. So you know yourself and what your energy levels are like, and how you can help to support yourself. Yeah. Um, so this is looking for logical gaps, you know, timeline gaps, any missing pieces of your roadmap. Now, ask yourself, what's the one non-negotiable that makes everything else possible?
EvanI I need to say no more often to things.
Step Three Initiator Stress Test Plans
FranYeah, that's okay. That the whole non-negotiable thing used to just blow my mind and because I didn't understand it. And basically, I just take it as like, what's the one thing that you can't give up? What's the one thing that's not moving, you know, that needs to be in place because it's non-negotiable. So, you know, you can have more of a think on that. And this is about bridging the gap, and it's about being between the imagination and the constructive action. And it helps to prevent analysis paralysis, because you mentioned just going around and not choosing on a shop, and you will just keep going in a loop because that's the safety place of not actually stepping into the decision. You know, a non-negotiable could be that you you've got to place in regular reviews or say no to some things, like you've said, or ensuring breaks to avoid burnout. So then the third step of the planning technique, you're gonna leave the navigator there, you're stepping into being the initiator. So you're gonna look through the eyes of being an initiator, really embody that this is about critically assessing your plans, securing the strategy, it's identifying potential challenges and refining your approach. So you're gonna step into being the initiator. This is the vision protector, you're protecting the vision. So you're gonna run an ecology check, you're gonna ensure that your plan is robust, and if there's any gaps, you know, how can it be fixed? So looking at your plan, just thinking about it, ask yourself from the point of view of being the initiator, what have I overlooked or ignored?
EvanRight, I've overlooked making a decision on how to design the merch and what to use, like what platform to use.
FranSo this this stage is about any cracks in your roadmap, so that might make it collapse. So you're looking for something that's sustainable and ready to launch, so you're looking for any little gaps in it. Another question for you to ask yourself on a scale of one to ten, how ready do I feel to start my plan tomorrow?
EvanFour.
FranOkay. When I initially asked Evan this, because I just kind of checked through what we were going to do for the podcast this week, Evan says seven, and I said, so you're gonna start tomorrow, and Evan said four. So, you know, ask yourself a few times just to make sure that you're definitely ready. And it's not about you know, holding yourself back or anything like that, it's just that you might need to just run things through again just to check for any other gaps. Now I'm gonna ask you what's called a killer question, and this is what would you have to give up or change in your current life to make your vision a reality? And are you okay with that? Right.
EvanI would have to change and adapt the current routines that I have, and yes, I'm okay with that, but I just it's just implementing it, like I'm okay with it, but I would need, you know, I mean, I'd need to think about it.
FranOkay, interesting. And ask yourself this what's the first action that I will take?
EvanRight, first action, I'm going to decide what shopping shopping platform and I'm gonna connect that I will connect to my YouTube channel. So that's that's my first action that I think I need to take.
Refining The Tool Plus Coaching Offer
Where To Find Us Online
Confidence With Imperfections And Closing
FranIf you think it, then it's your action. And also just for a bit of clarity on this, Evan and I go backwards and forwards on questions as to whether it should be, you know, how do you feel? How do I feel? So this is why we're framing it that you ask yourself and then you use the word I. But obviously, you can, you know, you can change that, whatever's gonna feel more comfortable for you. And this is about creating the small steps so you don't trigger a stress response. So by putting in the first action step, you know, you're going in with small steps because you need the small steps to lead you, you know, through through your roadmap. And your stress response could potentially be from the vision being too big. So because you've stepped out of being the dreamer, you know, out of being the visionary, out of being the blue sky thinker, out of thinking limitlessly, and you're you know, in the kind of more planning stage of being like the initiator, the you know, that one, then it could be that the the vision is too big. Yeah, so you put in the little steps for it. So that's why there's three stages to this. So you've got like expansive thinking, then you've kind of got you know the next one and the next one. There's just three stages to it to take you through, and you can run this three-step planning technique multiple times to refine your strategy and to gain total confidence in your next moves. So just you know, you can run it through again, you can run it through again. You can make yourself a nice little Venn diagram or a mind map or you know, whatever's gonna work for it. And the questions aren't set in stone either, these are questions that Evan and I designed ourselves. So you ask yourself what's gonna kind of fit within those those steps. While this three-step technique is a powerful way to start, it's just the beginning of the work that we do. So we go much deeper by combining this kind of business strategy. So by combining business strategy with NLP coaching to dismantle limited beliefs that hold you back. My goal as a coach is to fuel your creativity, to provide motivation and inspiration needed, not just to build a plan, but to execute it with total confidence. So, you know, the sessions would be much longer. So you spend as much time on this as you want. And a lot of these things are in public domain, they might be called something else or whatever they're in, you know. So take them and make them yours. And if you want a guide or you know, a mentor or a coach or somebody to work with you, just reach out and ask. You can even run it on family members or friends to see whether it helps them to kind of come up with that idea that they'd really like to do, but we can all be held back by embarrassment, we can be held back by our own belief system that it's not for us and that we're not that type of person, or you know, we can create what we want really. So it's just about expanding the possibilities. So Clarity Quest itself is available on our website, and you can see the stages, like we've kind of detailed them a little bit more, each stage, and you can obviously just take that, work on it yourself, or you can come to us and we'll work with you. You can also find us at on our YouTube channels. So I'm going to go through our YouTube channels again. So the first one is Melancholy Mentor, and that's for radio plays, radio dramas, and they're little videos that we film ourselves. It's usually me, just of the sea or the woodlands, and it's just to accompany the audio because the radio plays are about the audio. We do not create the radio plays, they are ones that are already created and are out, you know, on things like the BBC and whatever. Like they've gone out on radio basically, and they span quite a number of years, don't they? They go through a few decades. They're not all modern ones, there's some old ones on there as well. Similar for Mystery Mythos, the Melancholy Mentor is more based on classic literature. Mystery mythos is based more on sci-fi and potentially maybe conspiracy theories and things like that down the line, you know, just adding that little flavor in there, Evan. Yeah, yeah, love that. So Mystery Mythos is also radio plays and dramas, and then there's an added video that Evan makes that accompanies it. And then we've got Melancholy Coaching, that's where this podcast goes out. I'm going to be adding training videos and we're going to look to kind of grow the channel, but add in a lot of courses and things like that that are just accessible. So if you're interested in more content like this, be sure to visit www.melancolymentor.com. So that's us, and you can follow us for the latest updates. And until next time, stay curious, keep igniting your creative potential. Bye. Bye. I was waiting to see whether everyone was gonna say anything. Bye. But also, I just want to add all as well. Like, it's easy to say don't be worrying, but you know, don't be worrying about what your face looks like, what your voice is like. We're we're called out on all sorts of things. Biggest one for me is that I get called out on my pronunciation. You know, I'm doing my best here, humans. It's like so this is what I've got to work with. I'm doing my best. Evan's got a processing delay, and you know, we haven't let us haven't let any of this stop us as such. It's just sometimes we take a while to get there, and that's okay too. Yeah, you know, I think that we can meander through life learning and growing and just keep implementing these things to help move us forward. And if we can help any of you in any way, just with something that we say sparks something in your mind or spark some learning, or you learn something off us, then we feel really good about that because that's the intention behind it is to share knowledge.
EvanYeah, yeah. Or about.
FranSo now you can say bye. Bye. Bye. Thank you for listening. I'd love you to subscribe and visit www.melancolymentor.com for the latest updates. Till next time, stay curious and keep exciting your creative potential.
